|WIKIPEDIA: GONE BUT STILL HERE--FOR NOW
The Wikipedia article on the Ek-sen-trik-kuh Discordia is gone--for now. Some commenters said
Discordianism wasn’t important enough for Wikipedia, or that we weren’t important enough for an
article there, or that they believed our legal problems never happened--it was all just a hoax (see
"Interview Said What?" below). Others said Discordianism is important enough, we’re important
enough, and our story was verified. A similar debate went on about the Apocrypha Discordia
article--but nobody accused it of being a hoax. That was enough to tip the balance in its favor, but
not in ours.
So the Apocrypha Discordia article is still there (which talks about us), and the new article about
Discordian works by IamthatIam, Binky The WonderSkull, Gerina and others is there (which
talks about us a lot!)--but it’s now been suggested for deletion! See the articles at www.en.wikipedia.
org/wiki/Apocrypha_Discordia and www.en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Discordian_Works.
A NEW SUBDOMAIN
We got good news from Prince Mu-Chao of the 23 Apples of Eris. (If you don’t know, this is one of
the most popular and best-known Discordian sites--it’s got lots of cool Discordian stuff and
discussions, is the "official" host of Rev. DrJon Swabey’s collection Apocrypha Discordia, and is
the first site to feature "The Myth of Ichabod"--later changed to "The Myth of Starbuck"). The Prince
has offered us our own subdomain on the site! Cool, huh? Now we need to come up with a name
for our subdomain for www.23ae.com. Please send any suggestions by June 15 to our email listed
INTERVIEW SAID WHAT?
Reverend Loveshade was interviewed by professional freelance writer Adam Newton--we told
you that would happen, and it was great. But what’s not so great is that things changed. We
thought it would appear online in a public place, and that we’d be able to post the interview on our
site right away. But it’s posted for subscribers only, and right now we can’t post it. We’ll let you know
when we can and do. Unfortunately, this blew verification of our legal hassles with The Agents of
Greyface, which got our article kicked out of Wikipedia. But we hope for a change for the better!
THE TALES/MYTHS OF SHAMLICHT?
So far comments on adding the subtitle "The Tales of Shamlicht" to our book are mixed. We have
"add it," "leave it the way it is," and "what about calling it Ek-sen-trik-kuh Discordia: The Myths of
Shamlicht?" We even got one suggestion for changing the name entirely to Harmonia Discordia or
Discordia Harmonia. It’s called Ek-sen-trik-kuh Discordia: The Tales of Shamlicht on Wikipedia, but
that can easily be changed. Let us know by June 21--see the entry immediately below this one.
SHORTER VOTING TIME
We’ve been giving our members and friends at least a month to vote on submissions, suggestions
for changes, etc. But we’ve noticed five things--three things:
1) Virtually everyone who votes does so within a week and a half.
2) We’re getting more submissions that we expected and actually have a back log.
3) We have just about all the writing for Ek-sen-trik-kuh Discordia that we need.
So as of now, we’re cutting the voting time down to two weeks or thereabouts. We’ll let you know
when we need to hear from you on each item, as we did above.
RESULTS: KISSING, NIPPLES AND CHAOCHIPS
We still have a split vote on calling our newest Lesser Order the Lesser Disorder of Cloved
Lemon Kissers or the Lesser Disorder of the Cloved Lemon. So for now we’ll call it both. We
got results for two pieces. "How I Became a Chaochip" by C. S. Martin and Steve Lewis got
significantly more votes yes than no so it’s in. And every vote on "The Myth of the Nipples" by
Max Flax Beeblewax was yes, so it’s in too. Congrats!
YOU CAN VOTE, EVEN CHANGE YOUR VOTE!
We’ll take comments and opinions until June 15 on "Who the Hell is E?" by Reverend
Loveshade, and "Harmonian-Discordian Poetry" from Principia Harmonia. If you haven’t seen
these pieces, we can send them to you as attachments in Rich Text Format (rtf). Or we can send
them as inline text if you so request.
(CLASSY GRADIES OF 2006/3172)
Believe it or not, but some of our members have lives outside of our group. In their mundane
identities, Princess Unicornia and Bellydancer Upyours are graduating from high school!
Untroubled Teen will be going to high school after graduating from middle school, and Sister
Lorraine of Fairy Tree has completed elementary school (gosh, they start middle school early
these days)! Can you give spanking for graduation?
(Details can be found at discordia.loveshade.org/ek-sen-trik-kuh/holydays)
COOL OR NOT COOL?
We have a lot of stuff to consider! We're considering "The Sacred Bowel Movement," by Dr.
Sinister Craven, and "Inheritance Scam" by our second-favorite author, Anonymous. We can
send these to you as Rich Text Format files (rtf), or as inline text if you so request. We'll take votes
for and against through 21 June 2006. Coming soon: Look for more "Animal Sex," "Pussy Fun," "A
Thumbnail Sketch of the D & D of the ECG," "Illuminati Chess," "Estory of the Ek-sen-triks
CluborGuild," some "Discordian Poetry," and more!
If you’re getting this Snooze Letter and want to change to not getting it, send an email to
email@example.com with the subject Unsubscribe. If you or someone you know doesn’t get it but wants
to, send an email to the same address with the subject Add Me. Send comments and votes on items
above to the same address, but put something Discordian (ED, ECG, Eris, etc.) in your heading so
it's perfectly clear it’s not Spam.
Note: Our email for submissions has changed because we have a brand new one! It’s now
firstname.lastname@example.org. Please see submission details on our site before you submit.
