The World Is Down For Maintenance Issue

This being The World Is Down for Maintenance Issue, in which we promote the Revival of 23ae.com, see
Discordian American Princess Jamie Lynn Spears featured on Uncyclopedia, appear in Taking Woodstock,
search for Intermittens, propose a Discordian Saint, announce an Engagement, and request ideas for a new
member of the Order of the Pineapple.

You may know that the Order of the Pineapple (OP) is our second oldest and most truly
"this-gives-you-bragging-rights" DisOrder.  Traditionally, it honors those who have made exceptional
contributions of discord and eccentricity in service to the
Discordian Division of the Ek-sen-triks
and/or the estorical Ek-sen-triks CluborGuild.  But the times they are a-changin'.  As the
original ECG faded into the grey mist years ago, as the
Shamlicht Kids Club grew into reality, and has the
neo-Discordians have become so interconnected, we've expanded it somewhat.  However, some direct or
indirect contribution to D & D of the ECG or the ECG, and service to the cause of discord and eccentric
tendencies is still required.

It's time once again to think of nominating worthies for next year's award.  While only a member of the
DisOrder can technically make a nomination, we'll take suggestions for deserving trouble-makers from
anyone.  Send your suggestions including reasons why we should consider your proposed member to our
email listed or linked at the end of this here letter.  Please send them no later than Santa Claus Day (25
December 2009).

OP Estorical notes

Our oldest DisOrder is The Unknown DisOrder which began in 1981 and technically predates the ECG.  The
OP is our second oldest, and was first awarded on 18 January 1982, and since then the award is always
given on 18 January, which honors our patron saint and the ECG mascot Pat Pineapple.  It was most recently
awarded in 2009 to willing recipients
Steve Jackson and Reverend Loveshade (anyone is free to turn
down the award, although as far as we know no one ever has).

We are missing several years in which the OP may have been given.  If you have any information on
awardees from 1984 to 2006, please email us at the address listed or linked at the bottom of this Snooze

Join the revival proposed by Professor Cramulus -- as soon as 23ae.com (number one on our list of missing
Discordian websites) is no longer down for maintenance (note and last minute update:
Prince Mu-Chao is
now known as
Professor Mu-Chao, and the site has begun again.  The notice below is by Cramulus):

23ae is a Discordian blog once run by Prince MuChao. You may remember him if you've read the
Apocrypha Discordia.

It is, in my estimation, the most popular "Discordian" blog. It gets tons of hits from random Discordians who
are not currently connected to this Discordian Society. When I was a young pinealist, I read every single
goddamn thing on 23ae. It houses some good material, and a lot of fluff. It's where I first met
Broken AI, Dr Jon Swabey, The Other Anonymous
, and the infamous Rev. Loveshade.

Prince MuChao never did much to moderate the site, he let everybody post pretty much whatever they
wanted. That's how the place has a reputation (around these parts) for being what we would call "pinealist".
But to be fair, it's hard to generalize about the users and content of the site. It's dead as a doornail right now,
so there's nothing to generalize about.

Prince MuChao became frustrated with the place and backed off. He's a ghost now, only responding to about
1 out of 10 emails. Luckily, some people (myself included) have admin powers over there. I've continued to
keep it warm, making sure I have something on the front page at any given time. I think I represent about
50-75% of the posts in the last year or so.

The other posts are either Loveshade posting info from his monthly snoozeletters, or DrJon posting about
Discordian Holydays. It's fairly innocuous.

In the last six months the site has gone pretty much dead. There's about one post per month, and a half
dozen comments.

So here's what I propose:

We can very easily transform 23ae into what we want it to be. All it would take is one post every few weeks or
so to maintain a presence on the site. I guarantee that this will generate more attention for whatever it is we
post about.

Miley Spears has done it again!  The adopted daughter of Discordian Cainad wrote another
previously-huffed article about a Discordian American Princess and got it featured on Uncyclopedia.  Last
time it was
Brooke Shields, and this time it's Jamie Lynn Spears.

Jamie Lynn was the featured article for 19 November 2009 and you can see the current version at
uncyclopedia.wikia.com/wiki/Jamie_Lynn_Spears, or see the featured version at
uncyclopedia.wikia.com/index.php?title=Jamie_Lynn_Spears&oldid=4219436.  Ironically, Miley, who was
recently honored as
Uncyclopedia's Useless Goshite of the Month, was ironically blocked from editing the
site while her article was being featured, although that appears to be a technical error with a recent sign-in
change and nothing against her personally.  (A friendly computer hacker--geek--got her back in).

Also note the category Discordian American Princesses at the bottom that was made by Mnbvcxz (known as
Mn-z). And is there any connection between the lost panties of Jamie Lynn and the lost panties of Discordian
Saint Minnie Rae?

We really didn't plan to mention this, but some of us (TawTew the Naturally Perfumed, Mistress
Cockroach Bouncer, Labial Dentist, Reverend Loveshade
and others) were in part of the shooting of
the recently released film
Taking Woodstock.  By part of the shooting, we mean in crowd scenes with about
half a zillion other people.  But in spite of how small our parts were, we're honored that star
Kelli Garner
posted a thank you on our blog.  You can learn more, including a brief version of TawTew's memory of being
at the original festival in 1969, at

The Mythics of Harmonia have proposed making Zoey Zane a Discordian Saint.  For those who don't know,
Emily Sander was known as a very sweet girl who was killed at the age of 18, and then was discovered to be
the nude model and alleged "porn model" Zoey Zane.  She was also friends with our
Perlie the Pony Girl
(see link to Perlie's tribute below).  While we can't actually verify that Zoey ever called herself Discordian, she
did get a tattoo of a five pointed star followed by five other stars, and accepted Perlie's suggestion that it was
a Discordian tattoo.

The two-year anniversary of Emily's death is 24 November, and her suspected killer
Israel Mireles was
recently formally charged.  (Weirdly, the first true chapter of
Shamlicht Kids Club, Purple Ferret's Nest,
was formed that same day in 2007.  Even weirder--this is true--is that only very recently did any of us  realize
Emily died the same day PFN was formed.  Thanks to
Princess "I'm no good with numbers but I'm good
with dates" Unicornia
for that.)  The tribute by Emily's friend Perlie the Ponygirl is currently the third listed
by Yahoo Search for "emily sander"--if you don't believe us, check
Perlie-and-our-tribute to her late friend is at

Send your opinions on whether or not Zoey should be made a Discordian saint, and suggestions on the date
(born 23 February, missing 23 November, died 24 November) to the email listed or linked at the bottom of
this Snooze Letter.

For the past several days, trying to go to both Intermittens.info and Intermittens.org yielded the same
thing--an error message (this is number two on our list of missing Discordian websites).  We don't know why,
but will check it out.  Fortunately, we have all known issues on our site (see

Up until a few months ago, we posted birthdays of our members and associates, including Shamlicht Kids
Club members, who asked to have them posted. But we ran into a problem--the tongue-in-cheek SKC
somehow became a real club for Discordian kids, and we got lots more people subscribing to our Snooze
Letters, so there's too many birthdays.  So for now we're limiting this to one-time special events, such as the
formation of a new Discordian cabal, a new SKC nest, graduation, your death, or your first birthday.  If you've
recently had a special event, you've just been born or will be born very soon, feel free to send us an email at
the address listed or linked below.

Our own Labial Dentist and our new Mistress Cockroach Bouncer disengaged long enough to announce
their engagement!  They haven't set a date for the wedding, but do plan a Discordian theme.  And who do
they want to perform the ceremony?  None other than our own
Reverend Loveshade!  We'll give you more
details as they develop.

Shamlicht Kids Club thanks those who have sent ideas, but they are still looking for more before they make
a final decision on their logo.  As each group is really independent in spite of the supposed structure, several
of the members and leaders thought it would be fun to have some sort of logo they could adapt at will.  See
http://discordia.loveshade.org/skc for more about the group.  Then send your artwork or suggestions to them
at the address listed on their

Updates and additions include How to Submit at discordia.loveshade.org/xtra/xssubmit.html; Stuff We Need
at discordia.loveshade.org/xtra/nowsubmit.html; Snooze Letter September 2009 at
discordia.loveshade.org/xtra/snooze/snooze0909.html (see what you missed); Emily Sander/Zoey Zane at
discordia.loveshade.org/xtra/emily.html (see above for more info).  We also updated the Members list at
discordia.loveshade.org/xtra/members.html.  We'll be adding a Discordian Calendar as soon as we can find
a date to do it.

Also when we get around to it, we'll be doing a little redo of our site.  Some people think having each click on
a link opening a new window is a pain, so we'll likely limit those automatic new windows to external sites and
possible links from a main page.  Any suggestions can be made at
